Cuba Announces Modifications in Housing Laws
Cuba announced modifications in the housing general law that includes allowing Cuban nationals and permanent residents to buy and sell houses. The new regulations will come into effect November 10.
In fulfillment of one of the guidelines recently passed by the Sixth Congress of the Cuban Communist Party, the modifications seek to make procedures for the transfer of housing ownership by means of swapping, donation, buying and selling, etc, more flexible and contribute to the volunteer relocation of living spaces among people, Granma newspaper reported.
