Holguin Opens Exhibition on Mexican Art

Photo: ahora.cu  Fine arts once again turn kind of a brotherhood bridge between the cities of Holguin and Monterrey, with the opening of the group exhibition “Mujer, madre mexicana”, at the headquarters of the Cuban Writers and Artists Association, in the north-eastern city of Holguin.

This exhibition opens a new path for cultural exchange between the Cuban city of Holguin and the capital of the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

Open to the public during the months of July and August, it reflects the feeling of 32 Mexican artists of the reality of women and their interaction in modern society. A proposal brought by the Art Association of Southeast Monterrey in collaboration with Holguin artist Daniel Santos, Mexican Academy professor.

It comprises works by Mexican artists, in a fusion of experience and youth that becomes confluence of styles and shapes, to reflect on the way in which people conceived the image of mothers and Mexican women.

The exhibit is part of a collaboration project, which has been in existence since 1993.
