A brigade of electric linemen from the central Cuban province of Sancti Spiritus will travel in the next few hours to Martinique, in order to re-established electricity service in the Caribbean island severely pounded by hurricanes Irma and María last September.

The group, which left this Wednesday morning to Havana, has been provided with a multipurpose truck and all necessary tools and equipment for their future work in that territory.

According to Carlos Misael Rodríguez, director of the Empresa Eléctrica Provincial (Provincial Electricity Company), the electricians are expected to leave next Friday along with five other linemen from western Pinar del Río, as part of a contingent of the sector already present in Antigua and Barbuda.
