Prensa Cubana wants to provide a single source for links to as much of the news from the Cuban national media in both English and Spanish as possible. We use an RSS based system to post online the news items published in the RSS feeds of Cuban newspapers. The content we provide is therfore limited to what is offered as text and or images in the respective feeds of the papers. We run a program that tries to eliminate similar posts. If it detects an article that seems to provide a content that is nearly completely similar to an existing post it will skip it and not add it to the database. Therefore not all posts from a certain RSS feed at any point in time may not be added.
We identify the source of each post and provide a link to the original full article.
Not all Cuban newspapers are included in our system. Some do not offer RSS feeds, others have feeds that are defective or inconsistently formatted. These can not be read and converted by our “sweeper”. Regretfully the feeds of Granma (international version) are amongst those we can’t parse at the moment. Our IT guy think it is an issue related to certain servers in Cuba. We will continue to monitor the feeds to add any and all we can.
The links to the articles remain valid for as long as the original source leaves the article up at that URL. We have no control over that. Over time article may disappear as it is deleted or moved by the original source.
Prensa Cubana.
