Film Awarded in Cuba Wins Oscar

Three months ago Argentine director Juan Jose Campanella won the award for Best Director at the Havana Film Festival for “El secreto de sus ojos” (The Secret in their eyes). On Monday, he won a prestigious Oscar in Hollywood for the Best Foreign Film.

Cuba Sends More MDs to Chile

The Cuban government sent a new group of nine doctors and technicians to strengthen the brigade of 27 already working in Chile after the recent devastating earthquake. Currently 423 Chileans are studying on scholarships in Cuba, the majority in careers related to medicine.
